Rest Area - Brookings

A calming piece of land that feels like home on range. Handicapable accessible and sheltered picnic tables

Usually this place is very clean. When you walked into the building it smelled like urine heavily like a rest home. We get into womens restroom and first two are not flushed3rd was closed off and not working, fourth one was fine but had hard water stains very dark and handicap same. When I finished, I tried to flush the other 2 and one was clogged and the other went down. Just laziness by someone. The buttons are hard to push though to flush.. Gave a 2 because otherwise it was clean. This is our halfway point several times a year going to MN so I was very disappointed

Very well maintained, clean washrooms RV disposal and drinking water. Lots of room for a picnic with the family or just to stretch your legs and get out of your truck. I'm the summer its absolutely beautiful with the typical Midwest views across corn fields.

The building is kinda small being it services both lanes of interstate traffic. It was not the cleanest and only one of the hand wash worked at the sink. The outside grounds are very large and there is plenty of space to stretch your legs and numerous picnic tables. You do have to pull of the interstate for this rest stop unfortunately.

Was a great place to pull over and get some rest however people had their pets in the picnic area. More than once I noticed. Not sure what the fuss is about camping ? Maine is the only other state I noticed had the signs up about not doing it.
