This was our first trip to Peninsula Campground and it definitely wont be our last! We booked a waterfront spot and it was absolutely beautiful, the park is so well cared for. The restrooms and showers are some of the cleanest we have ever seen. The Campground staff was so welcoming and helpful. We had a quick chat with the dayshift maintenance man, I think he said his name was Chris, he was so helpful and friendly, you can tell that he really takes pride in the work that he does! The lake was warm and refreshing, we brought our Kayaks and Paddleboards and had a great time exploring the nooks and crannies of Rollins Lake, both of the ladies that work in the store and front entrance were also so friendly and accommodating, our daughter forgot her paddle at home and the supervisor on site was nice and loaned us her personal paddle for us to use, the park is not far from I80, the trees provide the perfect amount of shade, the deer and turkeys were frequently visiting all areas of the Campground, it was fun to get out of the city and into the woods to enjoy nature, the two ladies that work the store and front entry also come out at night to collect trash and to clean the bathrooms, we can tell that the on-site management really enjoys what they do and making sure that everyone is happy and satisfied, I will wrap up with they also take the quiet hours and no fires seriously, we had adjacent neighbors who were extremely loud and disrespectful, the managers were great at going in and asking them to be quiet, for new campers, keep in mind that when conditions become unsafe for fires, they restrict wood burning and charcoal bbq's. We can't wait to book our 2026 camping trip at Peninsula Campground

Arrived for our reserved cabin at 3:30pm, check in is 3. Whole place was abandoned, there was a sign on the check in booth saying to just go to your campsite and check in, in the morning. So we went to our cabin, it was locked. We called the number, walked around and looked for literally anyone, to no avail. The window on the cabin was open so we unlocked the door to access. Around 9pm a very rude woman suddenly appeared and made us feel extremely unwelcome. Told us the keys were taped to the check in booth when they most definitely were not, there’s 5 of us who looked. Seems they didn’t realize they have a reservation today and forgot, then tried to blame it on us. The cabin was covered in Cobb webs, looked like the door hadn’t even been opened in a few months. The bbq was completely broken and just thrown on the ground. The volleyball court is completely overgrown. The deck around the store is literally rotted, felt like it could cave in any second from walking on it. save your money and go elsewhere or just stay home. Seems they just like to collect money from people and not actually take care of the place at all. Sad to see cause this place used to be really cool. We booked two nights but staying just the one. Edit: we finally had a very nice lady show up the next day in the morning, she was super apologetic so we appreciate that nice lady.

We booked campsites 56 and 57 and were both on a steep hill. All of the campsites were mostly on hills, with the exception of about 10 throughout the campground. There were very many mosquitos after the wet winter, so unfortunately, our whole group came home with mosquito bites on our faces, necks, legs, and arms despite using lots of bug spray. There are not many places to access the lake if you are looking to swim. The bathrooms were nice with flush toilets and pay showers, but could be cleaned a little more often. We did encounter many deer, saw lizards, and heard turkeys and frogs, which was cool. The camp staff were some of the nicest we've encountered and drove through very frequently. You can buy firewood at the gate, too. You Bet Road from Hwy 174 is a bit curvy, so bring your dramamine if you're prone to getting car sick.

We didn't realize there was a fire warning so no wood or charcoal. Bring propane just in case. Great staff let us cook over wood our first night we get a propane grill till the next day. They were super nice about the whole situation. Beautiful lake and great little fishing trails...needs more fishing trails and cove beach areas. Got lucky it wasn't packed sites some what close.

Camp site small and on a mountain side. The view of the lake was wonderful. The tent and table areas were cut out in order to be flat enough. It was difficult to open and put away the tent and shade cover with out falling due to limited space. The dirt is red dirt and the lake is red dirt with slippery clay. However, the swimming area is flat and not slippery. The bathrooms were clean. The store and gate employees were helpful and kind. I must include that the store prices for ice cream was not overinflated! What a pleasant surprise because many camping trips the stores have been outrageous. The lake was warm enough to swim in and enjoy. The was even a rope swing.
