Indian Island County Park

Stayed here recently and my neighbor had their husky tied out all day and night alone. Poop everywhere not picked up. It kept bothering my dog when we went for walks. There was also trash and tires all around the same rv. The smell was terrible. I can't say for sure but may have been substance use over there. Very disappointing experience.

This is a beautiful park in Riverhead. I didn't know it existed. We went in the fall so it was pretty quiet. There seems to be plenty of campsites, I was only there for a photography hike. We walked to the beach which was very serene and pretty.

Nice place for walking and walking your dog. Watch for those who drive past the 10mph speed limit leaving the park in the trails. Be careful!

Cleaning up pix on my phone - taken Nov 18, 2021: This 275-acre park in Suffolk county is lovely but probably/mostly for campers – upon entering, we encounter a few large RVs. It has a few trails. The park is at the split of the North Fork, a peninsular on the Peconic River. We parked by the Indian Island (east most point) off Meetinghouse Creek. In fact, you can drive around the park pretty freely, includes the Indian Island. There are a group of white swans bathing/cleaning. One of them maybe on the look out for a wife – grooming himself religiously.

Beautiful beach and trail walk today at Indian Island. This park is serene and rarely crowded. It has a ton of amenities for campers and day visitors alike, including camp grounds, picnic areas, pavilions, grills, and well-maintained restroom facilities.
