We stayed here while attending the Skijoring competition eight miles away in Driggs. Great location right off of ID33, and we didn’t have any road noise. The room was large and super clean. We had the room over the office, which had a refrigerator and a microwave oven. Pick a nice restaurant from the short list they provide you, come back with leftovers, and warm them up later. The Tetonia Grinders provides a free large coffee or 15% discount on other food and drinks to Tetonia Peaks Resort guests. Sweet couple are managing this location and are very attentive to needs. Just ask. Let the manager know if you plan on using the sauna and the staff will get it warmed up. That was great after spending all day in the weather at the Skijoring event. I can see using it after a day of skiing/boarding in the slopes at Grand Targhee Resort. Laundry, game room, and shower facilities are available in the bathhouse for camping guests. The laundry looks clean. The showers also looked tidy. Nice pits for horseshoe aficionados. There is a pavilion with several grills, all with a view of the Tetons. We saw a sign for e-bike rentals, but our visit was in February when biking was offseason. However, there is a bike path not far off from the resort. We will be camping the northwestern states this summer and will stop in again, but with our RV next time!
The interior of the room was lovely. For a last minute one-night stay it was adequate. The online check-in was easy, codes were texted to me so we were able to get right in the room. The decor is updated and very clean. There was a strong smell of cleaning chemicals. I noticed outside the room and then stronger when we got in. Maybe change cleaning products to unscented. Those of us who are sensitive to smells would appreciate it.
I booked this room and then realized shortly after that my family wouldn't be able to make this trip. I submitted a cancellation request (even though the booking was restricted) and I explained the situation. They were very responsive by both text and phone and were understanding and flexible and let me cancel my reservation. So glad for good people in this world. If ever in the area I wouldn't hesitate to stay with them.
Overall we enjoyed our time staying here. We were in the motel, which did have a cigarette smell in the bathroom when we got there; leaving the exhaust fan on helped enough. I appreciate that they are dog friendly and turned the sauna on for us, as being winter visitors that was the only amentity that we could enjoy. I look forward to visiting again sometime when the ecopond is ready - I hope it's meant to be a natural swimmig pool!(?) 🐸 Love that locals and resort guests get a discount on coffee at the stand by the road. Peaceful location and comfortable accomodations.
I cannot recommend this resort enough- would give it 10 stars. First, new management, a couple doing an outstanding job. Second, they rescued us on our first nt when another place in next town lost our reservation late at nt. Third, the room was spotless and modern; we saw other options in the morning (little houses, etc.) and several resort amenities we didn't get to use but would make for a stay in itself for couples or families. And there is onsite management which makes for friendly welcome. Thank you!
