I spent the month before our trip trying to convince my wife to go whitewater rafting with me. She was hesitant about the class IV rapids and the falls. Fortunately we bumped into one of the guides (Nick) at the grocery store and he assured her that it would be a great experience. We both signed up and it was the highlight of our month long trip to Maine. The rapids were super fun and we were all kept safe. In addition the view of Katahdin and the pictures were incredible. Lunch was also delicious. I would highly recommend POC/NEOC. The whole crew was awesome and our guide Nick was the best. Thanks!

This location is very much as described. We stayed in a cabin tent and the online description had windows listed and there weren't any, which meant there was absolutely no cross breeze at all. Not all sites have a grate across the fire for cooking. You can use the amenities at the NEOC down the road like their kayaks, restaurants and that's where the wildlife tours meet. We did the wildlife tour and it was a wonderful day, the pontoon boat was very nice and it was the perfect amount of people.I would stay here again.

The workers were very friendly and helpful. Gave us great recommendations of things to see around the campground and area. Stayed in a tent. Hot showers, flush toilets, kayaks to take on the pond are a few features. Great view on Mt. Katadhin on the dock. Great place to stay!

I’ve stayed at this campground several times now and both are significant positive memories that have stayed with me. It’s a great place to pop a tent or rent the “bunkhouse” and it’s in the most amazing location. You can walk down to the office area for beer, fire pit, piano, horseshoes, or to check in for rafting. There are canoes/kayaks/paddle boards available, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. More than anything you can’t beat the location! Recently added rafting the Penobscot to my list and our guide Ty was amazing! (Full review under Penobscot Adventures for that). I can’t wait to come again whether to camp or raft, or both!!
