We only stayed so we could shower. We are used to dry camping and don't need electricity or water hookup. But the bathroom and showers are filthy and smell horrible. Hwy 2 is busy and the trains run nearby day and night. We paid $20 to park near the fence in a site with dog poop just to shower.
We stopped here during our travels from Michigan to Alaska. We had originally planned on making it farther before stopping, but the kids were not having it. We stopped in and they gave us a nice spot to stay for the night. No problems with electricity, bathrooms were decent. We did not use the showers. The nearby train was not an issue at all. It was a very peaceful stay. Thank you!
We stayed one night as we were traveling from Alaska to North Carolina. We called ahead and were told to take site 14 or 15. Both were full when we arrived. Other open spots did not have working electricity. We finally found a site with power. There was supposed to be someone on site to give us the key to shower and bathrooms. Their trailer was locked. No one home. This place needs attention and someone onsite. I could have just camped used water and electric and left without paying. But I didn’t.
Thank you Heather and Brad for a great stay! I used a tent site while here in my van. Terrific price, great location, and beautiful sunsets in the tent section. Plenty of hot water in the shower and its nice and peaceful when kicking back. The train is nearby, but it didn't bother my sleep a bit. Thanks again yall and see ya next year! p.s. give the cat some head scratches goodbye for me
I spend a lot of time reading reviews before I make a decision on a place, so I did my due diligence here when making plans for our trip. I am a little confused as to why the reviews are so bad, other than maybe it's the self-entitled society we live in now. This is a fine, quiet place to stay! We drove out to Montana from Minnesota this weekend, and this was our overnight rest stop on our way to Glacier National Park. I called last week to inquire about a reservation, and Mike was extremely kind and helpful. Booking was simple, low-tech, and quick. We pulled in at 8:30 pm, hooked ourselves up, and went about eating dinner. The spot is right off HWY 2 and SUPER easy to get into and INCREDIBLY easy to get hooked up. Spots were super level! We were done in minutes. Is it a luxury campground? No. It's not meant to be! It's clean, it's small and quiet, and it's very affordable. It was a perfect rest stop after a 16 hour day of traveling. Bonus: we got to snuggle some VERY friendly and adorable kitties!!! They were happy as larks hanging out with us and were a much needed cheer up while we miss our own kitties. Thanks for a GREAT transaction and a nice, cozy place to stay, Mike! I will absolutely stay again if we make this journey again.
