The area is absolutely stunning and I was happy in the geo done that I stayed in. It was comfortable, well equipped and clean. I did notice though that it is sitting on wooden slats with gaps that are open to the outside. I hate spiders so I was a bit unsettled. Bathroom facilities are small but clean and sufficient. There is a lovely bbq area with excellent equipment to use for free. The only draw back is the noise levels. If you are not here for a family holiday it can be tedious with constant yelling and screaming kids until around 11pm at night. Kids running everywhere unsupervised and adults yapping loudly non stop. Made our stay very unpleasant at times. Unfortunate the family next to us in the mega dome were yapping loudly on their verandah all day. The pool is very small and impossible to swim in with kids jumping and screaming unsupervised while adults enjoy some time out. This was just after school holidays period.
I love this park. Its so conveniently located from Melbourne for a quick weekend away. There is something for everyone. We've stayed in the older cabins (yes, probably time for an update here), safari tent/cabin (amazing!), unpowered site by the creek and ensuite site: they are all great. The camp kitchens are excellent, there's a pool, jumping pillow, play grounds, pump track and nature walks; all set in beautiful natural surrounds of the lush rolling hills, close to town and a plethora of activities. But the best thing about this place is the people who run it - they are simply awesome. I've never had a negative experience. They are helpful and friendly and while you wait for you great coffee they are full of tips on whats happening around the place. Can not recommend more!!!
Had a caravan site on lower level, close to amenities and camp kitchen because the weather was turning ugly. Wow...great choice. An absolutely amazing space to spend hours in, very comfortably! Everything had been thought of and a great range of cooking/dining equipment provided. Only tiny negative point I would say was they probably should have had more loos/showers in that block...it would be a wait if the park was busy. They were however very clean and modern.
We stayed on a powered and water site in our caravan. We stayed in a group and to be able to have sites together we had to pay and extra $25 per site to guarantee this. We thought it was a bit uncalled for, especially when we booked we were able to be put together then upon confirming booking a week out they told us we had to pay. Park is close to Healesville and activities but not walking distance. Plenty of different accommodations to choose from. Pool was too small for the park size, 1 shipping container pool which was quite warm and 1 smaller pool with an area for littlies, but on a 40deg day there was no room to move. Both pools were very cloudy and the bottom pool you could not see the bottom let along your knees in the water. There's a creek running along the caravan park which was delightful to sit in and chill, no good for very little kids or one's that arnt confident on rocks because its very rocky. Good playgrounds, tennis courts, bike track, really good for kids.
The best caravan park we have been to... several times over! This park has everything you need in a great location. Multiple activities for the kids, a great pool and an even better clear river with Multiple shallow spots perfect for kids of all ages. Caravan spots of all sizes, and plenty of space around you so even when its busy, you don't feel crowded.
