I arrived after the office had closed but the owners were super accommodating with checking in. Bathhouse was clean and well stocked. The WIFI was an added bonus and much appreciated with spotty cell service. My primitive site was right on the river and difficult to level but manageable. My only negative was the nighttime “traffic” at the public boat launch next door. It seemed to be a gathering area for some kids.
Beautiful peaceful place. Raymond the new owner was very accommodating with anything we needed. We had a group of 3 with big trailers full hook up. Great pressure. No bugs. Very well kept.. we drove in on a rainy day so the road was a bit scary. But when we left much easier to handle. Yes I would go again.. maybe ck out one of the many cabins.. or if your looking for a place to invest in, It is for sale 13 acres of Beautiful land..
Statts Mills Campground is our little home away from home. The NEW owners are doing an amazing job of cleaning the place up. Lots of updates made and hopefully even more to come. The playground update was a great touch! The cabins and bathhouse area was really clean & they didn’t mind that we brought our fur baby & he loved being there too! Booking was a breeze & the environment feels so safe. We decided to get a cabin for my son’s birthday and the NEW owners went out of their way to accommodate. They made sure the kids had plenty of toys to play with and that we had enough tables and chairs. THEY seem like amazing people and I’m looking forward to our next visit.
Do not go off of previous reviews! This campground is under new ownership as of like a month ago. The new owners are extremely attentive. They are fixing up and renovating all the cabins. I believe they’re even staying in one of the most outdated cabin just to be able to fix that up meaning that you get the really nicer cabins for your stay. If you have any complaints or issues they immediately come and handle it. I walked my nephews up to the playground and the new owner and his adorable son ran out to provide us with Cornhole and horseshoe games. The wildlife is healthy and beautiful and abundant. All cabins have a lake view with its own shore and bench. Picnic tables, Fire pits, excellent fishing, a new washer and dryer in the office, Internet, etc! You can’t beat the price! I visited last year and can already see an amazing amount of improvement in only one month. I flew all the way from California for a family vacation and I will be back! There was even a decent view of a nice firework display on the Fourth of July! I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the owner that did that because they’re so extra and awesome lol thanks for such a wonderful stay!
We stayed at the Sugar Shack which is a beautiful cabin. We met Joann, Raymond’ their daughter Christy and Roger the electrician. Joann and Raymond are the new owners. All went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a great experience. My grandsons and I went kayaking and had a great time. Just down the hill from is a great fishing spot. We caught some good size catfish there. They are so much fun to reel in. Cedar Lake is close by so we play a game of miniature golf. We had such a great time and will definitely be coming back again.
