Hi Raj — I just wanted to sincerely thank you for going above and beyond to help me stay. You exceeded all expectations, and it really stood out. You’re a true service professional, and I appreciate your help more than you know. Thank you again.
Huge territory but super small campground. Anyway it’s a great place to stay. Also, there is a trail around the lake and looks like it’s only for mountain bikes, it was closed when we tried to hike through…
The park was easy to find. It is located right at the north end of Weston Road. There is pavement all the way including in the park.. Signage is adequate. Check in was efficient and friendly. The rules are fairly basic. Our site, F 04, was a concrete based pull thru that was just long enough for our Coach and Towed. Services (30/50 amp, water and sewer only) were to the left side. Distancing is fair for a rural park. Each site has a table and a fire pit. Our site was flat and slightly sloped to the rear. Overall the park was pleasant to look at but in dire need of TLC. Our fire pit was full of trash and the whole park was covered with litter. The landscaping around the concrete pad was pitiful. To level the table I had to add 2X4s under the legs There is NO policing. When we arrived at our appointed site it had been taken over by squatters. We tried calling the office for some assistance and after many tries of getting just an answering machine we arrived at the office to complain in person. Even then it took over 30 minutes for someone to clear the site of the unauthorized campers. We also saw lots of people letting their dogs do their business with out picking up. We did not use the park included wifi and there is NO cable TV. We found plenty OTA channels. Satellite will not be difficult. We did not use the washrooms or showers as there were none near our loop. There is an amazing amount of activities available in the park. Boating, Fishing, Archery, Shooting both rifle and pistol ranges, RC Airplane, Cars and ATV s, Disk Golf and more. There are no restaurants or stores within easy walking distance but just a short drive away you can find food, shopping and convenience stores. We found this park to be an okay overnighter. We paid $50.00 per night (inc tax) and we feel we received fair value. We will be back if in the area again but hope management cleans the place up.
We stayed at Markham Park for one night on our way down to the Keys. The park was a little dirty in some areas, but overall it’s still a nice spot. The campsites are laid out in a circle, which gives it a cozy, community feel. It was very quiet during our stay, and everyone we met was friendly. One of the coolest features was the R/C airfield; it was really fun to watch the planes flying around! Not the cleanest park we’ve been to, but it did the job for a peaceful overnight stop.
My site was in A7. Excellent, quiet, clean, lots af things to do, great staff. I'm definitely returning. Dog friendly. At night, you need flashlights because it gets dark. There are not many lights. The spaces are mainly gravel and dirt unless you are handicap. They have a few spaces with cement pads for handicap campers. Restrooms clean.
