We’ve photographed sessions all over southeast Minnesota and the waterfall at Sylvan Park Campground in Lanesboro is one of those spots that never disappoints. The sound of the water, the trees, the trails and the way the light filters through the bluff walls make it feel quiet and untouched in the best way. It’s perfect for couples, families or anyone who wants something natural that doesn’t feel staged. Add in the charm of nearby downtown Lanesboro with its brick buildings, river views and small-town character and you have an incredible variety of backdrops within just a few minutes. If you love real scenery and timeless Minnesota beauty, this area is hard to beat.
Tennis courts near here are always fun to play at. They do have a lot of weeds and are not very well kept however!
amazing campground very fun to stay at very clean and the town is amazing.
Sylvan Park in Lanesboro MN is nicely wooded and landscaped. It features a small lake, clean restrooms, a bandstand, playground, and picnic pavilion. There is also a campground with space for 20 RVs or tents. Electricity (20 & 30 amp) is provided. Camping costs $40 a night. The location is within walking distance of downtown. The public library is also in the park, and appears to provide public showers. To the south of the park is the K-12 school building, and tennis courts. Also within walking distance is the Root River Scenic Bike trail.
Such a fun place for the kids to play. We are from Wichita KS but are visiting family. Lanesboro is so cute in a beautiful location between the bluffs. The park had things for my two children ages 9-9months!
