Rest Area - Cosgrave, Eastbound

ILLEGAL ACTION Last night they started having electrical and water issues and closed the rest area as a result, forcing all drivers, who were LEGALLY parked there, to move. Idk about the other drivers, but I had no time on my clock AND had shut down there bc it wasn't safe to drive. We are under a wind advisory 50 mph gusts. These people are VERY fortunate that none of us fought them and got the authorities involved. The solution was real simple... other rest areas do it. 1. Close facilities and leave parking open. Put signs out... most simple. Or 2. Close rest area... all of it... leave the trucks there, bc it's illegal to make them move from a, legal parking place, put a sign on the interstate signs saying it's closed. Have someone at the gate to open it when each truck leaves. I'm documenting this in case something legal against this place comes up. I have your back, drivers! I was there too.

The parking lot is really big. Just what trucks need, but the restroom, it isn't clean. That's typical for Nevada.

The best rest stop for convincing the Coyote to listen to your requests. Roast him a leg of lamb, tell your best bawdy jokes. Remember the Coyote is a trickster. Besure to word your requests appropriately.

This is a wonderful rest area. I just wish it had vending machines, although I can understand there probably isn’t a lot of people thru here. I also would like to see the info boards updated and maintained. The pictures do not show how smokey the plastic is.

My go to place to overnight on the long drive across Nevada. Easy access but far enough from interstate 80 to limit road noise. Beautiful setting. Clean warm bathrooms. Shady park-like picnic areas.
