This rest area is great with plenty of parking and restroom facilities. There is also a park and playground located next door. In the RV parking area, there are 8-15 amp power stations available. You can also find potable water and non-potable rinse water. To get here, take Exit 99 Eastbound on the Trans Canada Highway (Hwy. 1). It is about 7 miles East of Abbotsford on the Trans Canada Hwy. I used to dump my trailer here, i didn’t mind the homeless, but now the government has disabled all services at the rest area and blocked the sani dump. Don’t bother stopping, waste of time.
Too many unhoused. We used to come here to dump our trailer but now don't feel it's a safe place. I'd give it 0 stars if I could. The government needs to help out somehow. Maybe take one of the camps from the oil patch and set it up somewhere so they have somewhere as a base to get clean and work. IMO
It was a truly unique experience. Planned on stopping here to take my dog for a bit of a walk after a ferry ride, before hitting the mountains. That didn't pan out. The "rest area" is an encampment. Full of trash, trailer, and generators. Not to mention rats, so many rats. There was also a gentleman splashing in the toilet bowl when I went to use the washroom. Truly a sad experience.
No parking, trailers with semi permanent structures attached, pull outs blocking the roadway, and good luck going through if you have a trailer with how narrow people have made it. It's a sad sight to see, I'd wait until No.3rd if you just have to use the washroom.
You will have a hard time to find a parking space there. The rest area is full of trailers where people live full time. Lots of the trailers are in horrible conditions. I had to park in a very narrow spot between two dirty, broken trailers. I was actually afraid to get out of my car, but I had to use a bathroom. Fortunately, the bathroom there was usable and NOBODY WAS LIVING INSIDE. O, CANADA.
