Large sites for bigger rigs with full hookups. Great distance from the town of Banff but far enough away to enjoy the scenery and hiking trails.

We were camped here for 3 nights in one of the pull thru sites. We were in site 801. I loved how the sites were staggered and the next row is either higher or lower than you. The bathrooms were clean but the shower was iffy when we were there so I used my own shower since we had full hookups. The staff was very nice. The sites were nice and we enjoyed having the trees. Cell service was spotty. It is a very quiet campground. I heard they have a shuttle that will pick you up in the campground and take you into Banff but we never saw it and I had no other information on it or the cost of it. If we ever go back to the area, we will stay here again.

What can I say – this campground is a true icon for anyone wanting a serviced site in the Banff area. We stayed here for two nights (booked two months in advance) on a site facing the mountains, and it was a wonderful experience. Although the site was shared with another camper, the space was still more than enough for a family, with a picnic table and full hookups (water and electricity). The washrooms are a bit dated but clean, with hot showers – though having only one shower available can be inconvenient when the campground is busy. The staff was very kind and helpful, always ready to assist. Overall, the facilities are very good, and the shuttle service into Banff is extremely handy. The location is perfect, close to hiking trails and completely surrounded by nature – we even had elk and mountain goats wandering by our camper in the evenings (and yes, many bears live in the area too!). A truly memorable place to stay.

This was our second time visiting Tunnel Mountain with our RV. About 4 years ago we came and stayed in the A-Loop of Village 2. It was fully paved and you literally just had to parallel park your trailer in the spot. All sites were lined up on either side so there was absolutely zero privacy. We only had power at this site but it was still a pretty nice set up. Fast forward 4 years and we stayed in the Trailer Court where there is full service - power, water and sewer. The sites were spread out much better and most were pull through and gravel. Depending on which side you got, you would either have a hill on one side of you going up or one hill on the side of you going down. There are trees to separate you from other campers but not much. If you are looking for privacy, I would say Tunnel Mountain is probably not for you. We enjoy meeting other campers so it was fine for us. The full service is really nice and the pull through makes set up a breeze…not a single levelling block was used! The bathrooms were really nice and had free showers. Honestly, we were lucky to get the site as we were initially booked at Village 2 but notifications allowed us to cancel that reservation and book at the Trailer Court. There are tons of hiking and biking trails around right off of the camping site and you are about 5 min from Banff….you can’t beat that. The staff were all super friendly and nice. It was quite busy though which does detract from a relaxing stay. Everyone was very respectful and obeyed quiet time and I didn’t hear a peep of music being played. On the down side….the train. If you are a camper, you know what I’m talking about. I don’t know what it is but it seems we always end up camping beside a bloody train and hear the horn at all hours of the night. Bring your ear plugs! Also, another major thing for me….the cell service is horrible. Some may say that this is a good thing as you don’t need to be on your phone whilst camping…I say phooey….i came to see animals, not live like one. Let’s face it folks, most of us need internet - even just a little and it is almost non existent here. I’m typing this review before bed on my notes app because I can’t even access bloody Google Maps! Hopefully I won’t forget to post it when I get back to the land of cell service. Honestly, the pictures say it all about Tunnel Mountain!

Fantastic campground with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and easy access to Banff. The sites are spacious, clean, and well-equipped with full hookups, perfect for RV travelers. A great bonus is the Roam shuttle service available right from the campground to Banff town, with an affordable one-way fare. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the peaceful setting made for a relaxing stay. Highly recommended for a scenic and convenient camping experience!
