Joined my friend’s family for 2 nights and 3 days; tent site #12. For car camping, it was great! We were right on the lazy river and the site was quite large. The overall park was kept super clean, and staff (who I interacted with) were always friendly and helpful. If car camping is your jam, then I highly recommend the park. Great for families and has everything you may need.

Beautiful views. We were on island 2 and right beside the water. Scenery 5/5 Cleanliness….. the same beer can was sitting in the mens shower stall on our first night and still there when we left the 3rd night. If someone cleans the bathrooms maybe its only once a week because it was gross. Sites were free of litter. 2/5 Staff. Any staff I spoke to were really nice and took time to answer any questions. Initial check in was a bit rough but she may have been new. 4/5 Things to do. My friends booked this spot. Maybe ive been spoiled at the places ive booked in the past because this was very limited. For kids especially they will get bored 3/5 Water! This is my top reason for a lower overall score. It has grime on everything. It looks so pretty but it reminds me of my swamp I have and a similar smell. Theres a discreet sign beside island parking stating that use at own risk and does test at unsafe swimming levels. My friends child got a brutal body rash and the other got an ear infection. We went to another washago beach and they had no swimming signs everywhere. The bacteria levels were too high 2/5 water. Just look dont touch. We did see lots of frogs. A big snapping turtle. Crawfish. Small bass. I wont be returning but its not awful.

Stunning views! We booked site 13, right on the water. We were able to fish from the site. The teenager also enjoyed his inflatable around the camp (could launch into water from site too). All staff friendly. Pet friendly, too. Had a great weekend!

We and our group of friends booked yurts at black river wilderness park. Weather turned out to be great for September. And being September, there were almost none mosquitoes. The yurts were so beautiful and spacious. With all the required amenities. Washrooms were very close to the yurts. So, not at all a problem walking to washrooms even at night. There are 4 yurts in total. The whole area is huge with various points to enter the river for tubing or just to relax. The tipi' s , yurts , cabins all were nice. But I think we did the best by choosing yurts. The staff at the park was quite helpful. Washrooms were overall clean. Perfect place for families, friends, and kids!!

I really enjoyed relaxing, the peaceful river, the hikes and our spot at 15. We met a couple of people who were friendly as well at 14 which I loved that spot right next to the river as well. Lots of birds to. The staff were friendly and park was clean and so was the washrooms and thanks I will be back again. The only thing that I would like to see that I have a young one is a infant swing or swings in general.
