Kankakee South Koa Holiday

We chose this campground as a stopping point home to Ohio. KOA’s are often our “go to”: there’s a certain level of confidence in being assured of a safe, clean camping spot! This camp was top notch in every way! Complaints about smelly well water ( never experienced anything of the sort!) shocked us. No issue! Close to a landfill? Yes, but another non issue! Weeds? Saw none out of the ordinary. In fact, every site had a beautiful planter of canas and sweet potato vibe. Beautiful oak and walnut trees, mowed grass, no visible trash! Service was exemplary, including delivering pizza and wings to our site from their snack bar! Also, the camp was totally decked out for Halloween, and every October weekend are planned events like trick or treating, scavenger hunt, etc Trash pick up daily, game room, laundry, pool in season, dog park, full hooks ups!

I love coming to this camp ground. My kids and I enjoy it very much. They keep you updated when any & all events are going to begin so you'll have plenty of time to attend. The halloween events are so great and kid friendly. The light show was also great and they were giving out free popcorn for you to eat and enjoy the show.

What a fantastic KOA! The service was VERY friendly, the camp store had a lot of fun cute stuff like shirts and things. We needed s’mores sticks and there they were. They have a full menu of food that is delivered to your site. Everything from breakfast pizza and other breakfast items to a nice variety of lunch and dinner items if you don’t feel like cooking. Ice and firewood, delivered to your site and trash pick up throughout the day if left at the end of your site. We were in site 80, paw-pen site. It was like a nice sized back yard. Big tree, big cement patio with a gas grill, fire pit, bench and table with umbrella and four chairs. The fencing was at least 4’0 and completely closed to the ground, so the dogs couldn’t sneak out! The sewer hook-ups were basically out-of-site, with flowers and greens keeping them from being an eye sore. The showers, restrooms were very clean. They have a great game room with a pool table, air hockey, claw game, a couple newer games and a couple old time pinball machines. They were all decorated for Halloween, but the decorations were not lit up yet. This was a wonderful quite, relaxing time and only an hour from home. We will definitely be back just to enjoy the quiet and let the dogs be loose in the yard.

First time here and I was extremely happy, the cabins were clean the campground was awesome with alot to do with the kiddo. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Love the camp store and the pizza they have there 20 outta 10 for sure!! We will be back !!! Also love the puppy pens great idea !!

This is a lovely campground, and the owners and staff members are impeccable!! I ran into some truck issues during my stay there, and we ended up without a truck to haul our camper home. They had no issues moving things around so we were able to extend our stay, and not have to switch campsites(even offered to move our camper for us in the event they weren't able to change prior booked reservations). Incredibly accommodating and understanding people!! They have allowed me to store my camper there for the time being, until our truck is fixed and we are able to haul it home. Great people!! A really fun campground with tons of amenities and things to do. A great family campground, with even better staff!
