Base Camp Tasmania

Quiet retreat in the bush. We went to a wedding there and it was a great setting with good facilities. We camped in our tent. Excellent amenities, HOT showers and very well equipped kitchen ( even the knives were really sharp!). Driveway is very steep and winding ( not for caravans!)

Me and my friends had a very great time! The rooms, the bathroom and the kitchen are always very clean. Free washing machines are great too. Beds are comfy, everyone has his own little window, shelf, towel and lamp. You are surrounded in the middle of the most beautiful nature and see wildlife all the time. The owner, Alana and Steve are very friendly and always willing to help with everything. We made a lot of new friends and enjoyed every moment!

I had to promise Steve to keep it quiet how amazing Tassie is. But his place deserves 5 star for the amazing setting the wildlife and the guy that runs the place. We weren’t able to return on our trip but do recommend. 🤟

The welcome from the owner was really friendly. Rooms and facilities are clean and well organised, there’s plenty of space and the outdoors are awesome. Some animals are to be seen in the area and you’re surrounded by nature. Sadly there is a poor heating system in the dorms and there’s only one stove in the kitchen which is barely working. Would go again in the warm season.

So absolutely delightful that I cancelled my next night's accommodation to stay another at BCT. A stunning spot, and the amenities are clean and excellently maintained. Chucked on my laundry and had a hot shower before I made myself a hot chocolate to sip in my tent. Great work, gang. Hope to be back soon xx
