Rambling Moose is a delightful campground. The host is as amazing as the campground. Clean shower facilities (cleanest I have ever seen & tastefully decorated), & beautiful well maintained camp site. We had an awesome view of surrounding area & fabulous star show (no light pollution). Great for overnight stop or stay for a while. Host gave great suggestions for restaurants & all the interesting stops in Virginia City & Nevada City.
One of the cleanest campgrounds we've ever stayed in. We were in an RV site that had plenty of room to maneuver the trailer and vehicle. On site bathroom and shower facilities were sparkling clean and in amazing shape. The same goes for the onsite laundry. Location is easy to access...just don't follow your GPS which takes you to the wrong spot. This location is just outside of Virginia City. Lovely campground and we would stay again and highly recommend. Great Wifi too.
I hesitate to recommend this place because its so great I kind of want to keep it a secret! Kim and Greg are wonderful hosts and the park is spotless. Plan on at least 3 days so that you can explore Virginia City.
So far our No 1 Rv Campground since we have left 2 month ago from Florida. My husband and I have started a journey this year to visit all the western town up at the North western continental and we have been moving and camping making our way up. This campground was found on a last minute availability since another campground booked at Livingston MT messed up our reservations. As I scrolled and s search to find a place to camp the only available we had was here… And Right here we were surprised, amazed first of all of the beautiful sceneries as we drove up higher to montana, and as we arrived; I knew we found a great Campground. Mrs Kim was so kind to help us to find what we call a spot to come and rest after a long day of adventures around finding these old western towns. She took her time to explain us which areas where must see, the Legendary Virginia City and The Nevada Ghost town, The Mines Gold Rush. We stayed here for 5 nights in total and when time to level came we were sad to have to leave back to the crowded and busy campground we will find our way back down south wyoming and Colorado. The place itself is a gem, quiet and amazing starlight show, wildlife in the surroundings and 2 creeks that as the night falls and all gets quiet, you open your rv windows and you might be lucky enough that your sight is close to that soothing sound of the creek. The sunsets were amazing each evening we were blessed to be. And the outhouse detail moon… We met some nice people and the best of all location and the quiet and private space. The laundry room was clean and good. 2 big dryers and 1 washing machine. The showers and restroom were sparkling clean. Very good space, handicap friendly shower. They also have cabins along the river streams. Spot. For tent . Although all this is in a smaller campground is so well divided that each one has it one good spot and not stack nor crowded. The owners told me are in making more improvements and they have a store with unique gift to take back home. Great prices by the way. We felt in love with this area and will try to make it back for the fall season next year instead of summer. Thank you for such a unique amazing campground, well maintained and safe. It felt like Home for us.
Kim and Greg were the best. The grounds were amazing. If I could give 10 stars I would. So close to town yet in the woods. Awesome. So quiet and peaceful. We are going back as soon as we can. Price was awesome as well. Yes, snow in June. Loved it. Also, laundry and restrooms were very clean.
