Bar Country Le Corral

Coming from Texas, this was a pleasant surprise. All they need is a dozen rattlesnakes and a small herd of longhorns and I'm back home! This might be my favorite park so far as I travel through Quebec. Not that it is the poshest campground. But they have that attitude of hospitality, which means more than making a buck (or a loon, I suppose). They are always friendly even when I have to bother them with different needs and questions. They organize activities such as pétanque and have other special events. I just felt very welcome here. Site was grass and quite level. Electricity was fine. Water pressure a bit low, but I was able to fill the tank and use my pump. There is free wifi--a nice amenity when many other parks charge for wifi. Pool is decent. Hot tub is large (wasn't very hot, but in the Summer that was fine by me). Basic maintenance was fine. It's also fairly remote, so there is no city noise; no traffic noise. Even the airport with its small planes is mostly unnoticed. I would suggest one thing: The pool lock should be switched to a combo lock so guests can just enter a code rather than wait for someone to let them in.
