We arrived on Thursday, October 17 The site was extremely small and due to the spring flooding nothing is permitted on the grass, which we understood. The sites are so small, we were told to move our truck to a grassy area below the campground. Our initial view of the river was good, but by Friday evening our view was of our neighbor’s very close truck. Directly behind us was another camper making it difficult to move our portable dump tank. Unless you get a site along the river, this is a terrible place to camp!!
Very nice campground. Great river views. Small clean bathhouse. Quiet, clean, very nice host. Easy reservations. Easy walk to downtown.
Small campground, perfect location. We parked our truck in the spare parking lot, rented a golf cart and explored Madison. It was great and I can't wait to do it again.
We loved our stay here! We were only here for a couple of nights but it was quiet, right on the river, and right up the road from downtown Madison. The campground host came and welcomed us personally. She was very hospitable and answered all of our questions. No question, we will be staying here again in the future when we visit the area!
Just left there and it was a wonderful experience. We had a great site on the river and loved every minute. Doug and Georgia are the hosts and couldn't be any more friendly or helpful. Location is perfect for a nice walk into the city along the river. Our little 10# fur baby loved that. The sites are a bit tight but doable. Convenient water and electricity hookups although we had to break out the second water hose as the first one (25') was about a foot too short. Restrooms are older but very clean and tidy. The only real downside is the security lights that come on at dusk and are super bright. Kind of takes the beauty out of watching the river at night not to mention how much ambient light comes in your camper even with shades down. Since this is a city owned campground, we contacted Parks and Rec to share our concern. Otherwise, we can't wait to go back.
