Swallow Falls Campground

One of my favorites to camp at near DC! So many beautiful hikes with waterfalls and nice camp spots. I’ve been at least three times and still love to go back!

Beautiful and well laid out campground. Sites are a bit small, but the location is well worth it to be able to access the falls on weekends.

Nice campground with spacious sites. Clean restrooms and showers. The waterfalls are beautiful.

Beautiful, quiet campground. Lots of wildlife and tall trees. We stayed here to visit the Deep Creek Lake area and WV. We found it convenient to both. It's great to stay somewhere so close to the Swallow Falls Trail. It was so pretty that I did the hike twice. The sites are not super spacious, but plenty big enough for a tent. The rangers and staff at the camp store were friendly. I'd camp here again!

A nice quiet campground. Some of the pads are not particularly level and the bath house showers could use updating but a nice place to get away and be in nature. It is very convient to the 1.5 mile trail that takes you to waterfalls and a 5.5 mile mountain bike trail to Herrington Manor State park. The bike trail is strenuous and rocky at parts, not a ride for young children.
