We came here to stay while I had to go into work there in Ventura. The campground is a nice place to camp/hike with a lot of history in the area. Although, spot #2 and #1 at the campground are "not" big rig friendly. I don't care what the their website or other sites post. We had to maneuver our way back into the spot and made it work but I would not suggest it for big rigs. Our stay was nice but cut short due to the drastic rainy weather coming our way. This spot sits at the bottom of a sloped road or washy area so we were not about to stay there and have anything come barreling down behind us and cause us any harm to ourselves, our pets or our truck/rig. So, we messaged the park about us leaving and explained our safety concerns and they were happy to refund us the two days early we had to leave. We were very grateful and anxious to leave to get ahead of the impending storm. As you all know when California gets rain it gets rain and you need to stay clear of these areas for your safety. We would go back and stay at Foster Residence Campground and would recommend.

Small, nice, quiet, clean, easy access. Highly recommended. The RV sites have all necessary hookups (including cable TV). Toilets are very clean and well maintained. Group picnic area available. Great views!

This review is about the tent camping at Foster Residence Campground. We visited in April 2023 and had a great stay. We stayed in site 16. Sites 11-13 are all grouped together, do not have much tree cover, and are on a slight slope. Sites 14-16 are more private and are along a creek (we could hear the creek but not see it, and I don't think you'd hear it during dry season). Imo site 14 and site 16 are the best for tent camping - flat ground, tree cover, space between you and your neighbor. These sites are also tucked back away from the road so you only hear nature. I believe all the other sites have a concrete slab for trailers and RVs. We paid $37 with online reservations for one night plus one dog. The bathrooms were well maintained with flush toilets and running water. The camp host is tucked behind a huge fence but on our visit the host had a Ring doorbell set up in case you have questions. They did not have any firewood on site, so be sure to pick some up on your way in.

We stayed one night with our Jeep Wrangler (two people / tent on top) and paid $34 (tax incouded) The place is neat and well organised. Very quiet and full of camper vans and people camping with tents. You pay online through an website. There are parking lots with tables, fire pits and restrooms and common areas. Plenty of shade and wood to burn. The park host lives in an RV, very nicely she let us stay when we arrived at 7 pm. 4 stars because There are no showers or hot water. There is little light (bring flashlights with you).
