My experience at Breezy Hills Camping was deeply unsettling, and a major reason for that was the condition of the water throughout the campground. I have never seen campground water that looked this unnatural or concerning. The water had a strange, unnaturally bright blue tint that immediately raised red flags. This wasn’t a subtle color difference or a trick of the light—it was noticeable, consistent, and frankly alarming. It looked less like water and more like something treated far beyond what should be necessary. As a guest, that alone made it difficult to feel comfortable using it for basic needs. Showering, washing dishes, or even washing hands felt unpleasant because of the obvious over-treatment. The water didn’t just look odd; it felt off as well. There was a strong chemical presence that made it hard to ignore, and it left me constantly wondering what exactly was being added to it and why. Camping should feel natural and refreshing, not like you’re interacting with something out of a laboratory. What made this worse was the lack of transparency. There was no explanation posted anywhere, no warning, and no reassurance given to guests about the water quality or why it looked the way it did. If the water is going to appear visibly altered, the least a campground can do is explain what’s going on. Instead, it was just something guests were expected to accept without question. This issue seriously took away from the entire camping experience. When you’re constantly second-guessing whether the water is safe or over-treated, it’s impossible to relax. It’s not unreasonable to expect clean, clear, normal-looking water at a campground—especially one people pay to stay at. Breezy Hills might think they’re being proactive by treating their water heavily, but there is a point where it becomes excessive and unsettling. The unnatural blue color alone is enough to make guests uncomfortable, and ignoring that concern shows a lack of consideration for visitor experience. Until Breezy Hills addresses the water quality concerns, provides clear communication, and ensures the water looks and feels normal, I would strongly caution others before staying here. Camping should reconnect you with nature, not leave you questioning what’s coming out of the tap.

I was really disappointed with my experience at Breezy Hills Camping, and unfortunately I won’t be returning or recommending it to anyone. The biggest issue was the staff enforcing “rules” that were never communicated anywhere—not on their website, not at booking, not on posted signage, and not during check-in. These rules seemed to change depending on who you talked to and when, which made the entire stay frustrating and stressful. It felt less like a campground meant for relaxation and more like walking on eggshells, constantly worried that you’d be reprimanded for breaking a rule you were never told existed in the first place. When I tried to clarify these so-called rules, staff were dismissive and unhelpful, offering vague explanations instead of pointing to anything written or official. There was no attempt to resolve the confusion or acknowledge that guests can’t reasonably follow rules that aren’t clearly stated. Instead of professionalism, the attitude came across as defensive and condescending. Camping is supposed to be about enjoying nature, unwinding, and feeling welcome—not being micromanaged or made to feel like you’re doing something wrong at every turn. Breezy Hills completely missed the mark on that. The lack of transparency and inconsistent enforcement ruined what should have been a relaxing getaway. If Breezy Hills wants returning customers, they seriously need to improve their communication, clearly post all rules, and train staff to handle concerns respectfully. Until then, I’d suggest looking elsewhere for a campground that actually values its guests and understands what a positive camping experience should be.

For adults there is definitely a sense of nostalgia spending time at Breezy Hill. It truly takes your back to your childhood. It will remind you of the days of yesteryear as an adolescent being yelled at by your parents for breaking rules or being summoned to the school office for a good old fashioned scolding by the principal. The Owner Phil comes across as friendly at first but this is not the case. He enforces rules like a Marine Drill Sergeant. Someone smeared a dirty diaper on the walls of his public bathroom and he had the audacity to go around the park accusing anyone with a baby of the act. I've witnessed him verbally abuse and yell at guests in front of children. He is a large man and I'm certain it could come across as quite intimidating to some people. I understand that rules exist for a reason but I have trailered in several campgrounds and this place is next level in terms of enforcement and monitoring to the point that it totally kills any chance of a relaxing camping vibe. It's overkill and intrusive. There are some nice people in the park but there are also many seasonal guests that feel they have the right to yell at outsiders and there is definitely a clicky and unwelcoming aura to the park. I've had my PHIL of Breezy Hill It wasn't Breezy

We had a wonderful time at Breezy Hill on the September long weekend. The park is very nice, extremely clean and well maintained. Transient sites are very long and offer water, sewer and 30 amp service. Located a short drive from Ottawa, it made for a quick and enjoyable getaway. Office staff could not have been more friendly, helpful and accommodating. At $50/night, you are getting much more than your money's worth! A quick caveat - we have a 41 foot rig and our site had a slope to it that made levelling exceptionally challenging. Other transient sites appear to be more level, so site #46 is best left to shorter RVs ie, 30 feet or less. Thanks Breezy Hill, look forward to another visit!

This campground is managed very well! We have been to many campgrounds/parks and the pride the owners have shows. We were there for a week and each day they were around emptying the garbages (we stayed on the tent sites which apparently are available on long weekends only, will have to call to confirm). The sand in the playground and other areas around the man made lake are groomed regularly. The bathrooms were always very clean. One day when we were there it rained a lot and one of the roads through the park flooded. They right away had an alternate route ready and setup a pump to clear it out. Within that day it was cleaned up and open again. They are very friendly and super helpful as well. I would not hesitate to go back there or recommend staying there to anyone. All the people who work there seem to be very happy and friendly as well. The last day we were there it was supposed to rain. Rather than packing up wet tents, we decided to stay in one of their cabins. It was huge and a great value for the price. We found it very clean and comfortable.
