They apparently have a new RV area (according to police officer). The sites are all side by side with no extra space. They are free and have free electric and water. The sites are firm and level. The dump location is a little awkward. Nice playground for kiddos and overall a nice park. Check in by calling Police Station. Bathrooms closed but not surprising in January.
Nice place to sit and watch traffic while you eat your lunch. Bathroom is surprisingly clean. Some changes since I was a kid
This is a city park that has 5 free RV hookups sites. They are 30 amp and water, with a dump station. They suit smaller RV's, but site one is a pull through that fit us (40ft motorhome towing,we did back into it though). We called the police station as per the sign and we were set for two nights. The hookups are on the passenger side,so you need to be prepared for that. The sprinklers came on around 7:30 am and were set to hit the parking area (directly into our furnace exhaust ports). Also the bathrooms are locked, so you need to be self- contained. We were set for two nights, but chose to leave early due to higher winds. For a free site it is worth staying again.
We were traveling from Louisiana up to South Dakota and decided to stop here for the night. Call the police station to let them know that we would be staying the lady that I spoke with name Lori was very nice. Park is well maintained and clean has a play area the restrooms needed a little sweeping but other than that they were well stocked. The only bad thing that I can say about this was or is a lot of traffic but once it gets night time the traffic dies down. There is a lot of in and out I guess local traffic and people Park in the campers parking lots when there's plenty of other parking to park at to take your kids to the park. They need to post signs where campers Park that say four camping or RVs only! Maybe sometimes a officer needs to ride through checking on people that are just sitting in their cars looping around for hours suspicious activity was going on. The site had electric and water they're also was a dump but we did not use the dump station very easy in and out and we also stayed there on the way back from our vacation going home would highly recommend plenty of places to walk to eat or get whatever you need.
This tint little park allows overnight parking for up to two nights and has a number posted for police station to call so you call and let them know which is awesome and reassuring for your safety. Thank you Perryton!
