Really cool campground that's perched high above the beach. Amazing views of the Pacific Ocean - especially around sunset. The state beach has a campground store and decent bathrooms with easy access. We were super lucky and got the very last vacant site for new year's eve this year. Great place to end or start a year, for sure! Friendly staff and other campers. Unique campgrounds. Will definitely stay again next time we're traveling in southern California!
It’s more dramatic than the north part. The ocean on this part feels more magic.
We had the pleasure of camping here and it was a dream. We have been a few times but got a “premium” spot this time on the ocean side and it was a dream going to sleep listening to the waves. The views were great. The amenities were outstanding. The one road in the camp sifted does get VERY busy with cars, walkers, bikes, surfers, etc. we can’t wait to go back.
Beach is beautiful, but over priced, lack of maintenance, beach look out point was closed because of much needed repair. The Money the state is making on this campground and for the repairs it needed is a shame.. the biggest complaint I have is the noisy noisy highway ... All hours of the day and a at night, motorcycles blasting up and down the highway......
This beach is really nice. I'm impressed with how clean it is here. I used to work for ceo program cleaning up the local highways. We stopped here to kill time and enjoy the amazing views. North County san diego is super nice and I look forward to coming back here someday in the near future. These photos were taking on my old samsung galaxy phone.
