We stayed two nights at Benchmark RV in Marion, MS (just outside Meridian) and we absolutely loved it. If you’re traveling along I-20 and need an easy stop, this place is a total win. The pull-through sites are seriously long — no stressful maneuvering, no awkward unhooking gymnastics and the concrete pad made leveling a breeze. Everything was spotless and well maintained, and the staff was genuinely friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. It just feels like a place that’s cared for and run by people who actually enjoy what they’re doing. It’s quiet, convenient, and the kind of campground that turns a simple stopover into a really pleasant stay. Huge bonus: Breaux Bridge Meridian Restaurant is only about 10 minutes away and their Cajun shrimp boil was fantastic. We were not expecting to find something that good that close! Plenty of room around the park for the Mrs. to get in her 4-mile morning walk too — which made it even better. We’d absolutely stay here again.
We stayed here for one night. Our site had a concrete pad (it was level, too!) with full hookups. The gentleman in the office was very helpful and friendly. The price is reasonable. There is a private bathroom with a shower. We did not use the shower because the water pressure was so low and it never really got hot. Ironically, you do need a regulator when hooking up water cause the pressure is high. There is a laundry room...wash is $2 and dry is $2. Meridian is a short drive away. There are lots of shops and restaurants close by. I would recommend a meal at Weidmann's, Mississippi's oldest restaurant. The service and the food are great. We would stay here again if in the area.
I honestly would never give this man the time of day to stay at his park again. The campground was nice and clean. Very little shade and sights are cramped. His rules applied to some but not all. No parking on the grass for sum but not all. No utility trailers for some but not all. What this man does not realize is half his park are monthly (long term renters) and there for work not pissy rules. I came home 2 evenings to my power out. The first time it had only been out 30 mins (camper was still cool) second time it was 95’ in my camper and my dog was in inside. That when I lost it with him. He told me to get something to monitor my power. We are full time living just like at my house back home and I don’t have a monitor there. The fix to the power outage was due to a faulty breaker on my pedestal which he replace that evening (very quickly) no more issues. Next I done as suggested I bought a dehumidifier/air cleaner the first of August that monitored the power and temp and he pitched a fit a week later and said I was using double the power. So to that he tried to charge me $50 extra for the month of July for the use of a dehumidifier. Then for the month of August again. I only had machine for 3 weeks so I know it did not run up power in July and when it was mention about power usage it had been running 1 week. He also claim to monitor the power usage at each site. There was no monitoring device at my site. Maybe the power spike was from the faulty breaker. Do not just blame someone else for your lack of maintenance to your sites. I could go on and on.
Awesome Spent over a week here waiting for the local chevy dealer work on my Duramax diesel. The campground is a good stopping point if you’re passing by. Jack, the owner, is amazing. We were without transportation and he frequently came to our site to check on us and offered to take us wherever we needed to go. Where do you find that these days? The park is mostly long term folks, but they are friendly and also offered to help. Clean, quiet and right off Hwy 45 just north of Meridian MS. I will definitely stop there again. And his daughter does crochet, bought a couple snowmen.
Nice place to stay, convenient access off I20. Owner was super efficient booking over phone and in person. Concrete pads, nice and level but spots are a little tight. We stayed in site 12, were just there for overnight and it was ideal for that , price was great. We’re usually rolling through and don’t have a lot of time for using the amenities. The most important issue to me is electricity - the power was clean, hook up was solid pedestal and water pressure was great. They will advise you to use a pressure regulator because it’s high. Will definitely stay there in future and recommend the place to anyone looking for no frills value based pricing. Jim Hart
