There is 2wd access but the 4wd trackside is more fun in, plenty of camping space for everyone, be self sufficient and you'll have a good time away :)
Wouldn't camp here currently, knee high dry grass, one big fire hazard.
Ok spot to stay for a day or two. You can still hear nearby traffic, but it’s compensated by a bit of wildlife in the morning and evening. Please take your rubbish with you and dig a hole for number 2 (there’s quite a bit of toilet paper around).
Good peaceful free spot that’s dog friendly. Take the back road as another review suggests (all vehicles would easily get in). Even during peak time between Christmas and new year it wasn’t super busy.
Google takes you onto a 4WD track, a pit of Despair From the Ballan-Daylesford Rd/C141 Google indicates right toward the camping ground - DON'T Continue to the Spargo-Blakeville Rd and Google Maps will recalibrate. This road has a fully graded road and a smooth drive to the Werribee River Camping Ground. I tried that first road in my SUV for 1 km and the road only gets worse.
