Great campsite. Has every thing you need. We only stopped over one night. Self check in
Penn Lake Campground, owned by the City of Marathon, is a beautiful, leafy retreat that’s exceptionally well kept. The level of maintenance is impressive, and the staff are present and responsive to the needs of campers. Sites are flat and easy to set up on, but you’ll want to bring an extension cord for electricity as the hookups can be a bit of a distance. There are only about 20 RV sites, so booking ahead is wise. One of the highlights is the incredible 2 km walking trail that loops around Penn Lake — peaceful, scenic, and perfect for stretching your legs after a day on the road. The campground is just a short drive from the town of Marathon, where you’ll find basic shopping for essentials. It’s a quiet, well-managed stop that’s well worth the detour. One note of caution: you’re in bear country here, so be mindful with food storage and follow all safety guidelines.
Nice, quiet campgrounds. Enough space for 2 tents in our tent site. Beautiful scenery. Would give 5 stars if the wood they sold us burned(it was damp) and should have had more for the price
Beautiful little RV/Camping spot built by the town of Marathon, on. Well maintained private, level sites. Full hookups. Penn Lake is a gem. No convenience store onsite, but they do deliver wood. Free showers and coin operated laundry ( only one washer and dryer.)
Nice small campground.... stayed at site 11, and it seems like the best one. Did not have any issues with the electricity 30 amp. The electrical and water are between sites, so you most likely will need extensions, especially if you use the sewer that is located at the front of the site sooooooo bring water and electrical extensions.
