enjoyed my three day stay at the caravan park. super clean clean toilets and showers. It could do with another washing machine and dryer. currently two of each. Peak time at 12:00arrival of vans to the park. Site 83 is perfect. drive in site.taxi is approx $40 comfortably to the city. there is a bus too. Mona is leas than ten mins away from the park. there are pubs near by. Northgate shopping centre is close for woolies. 40 min drive to Bruny ferry. easy day trip.
We stayed here for 4 nights. We knew it was a bit of a construction site, reading reviews and information given when booking. I had asked for site 83 on booking but told this would need to be kept for big rigs ours is only 8m. Fair enough but when we got there there was a van smaller than ours on that site.🤷 We had site 7 with power water and sulage, which was fine, better than being squashed into the middle rows. The amenities are set up in Dongas with shower toilet and sink in each. The showers had good water pressure and always hot. There were 12 individual cubicals in the middle of the park and some amenities at the top end. I didn't use those. They were relatively clean and did get cleaned daily. It's a busy park and could do with more amenities. Only 2 washing machines and dryers definitely not enough especially as there are no clothes lines. The washing machines and dryers have a QR code that has to be scanned with your mobile and payed with a credit card loaded onto your digital wallet. We couldn't put our awning out as couldn't get a peg in the ground it's so hard. Couldn't put our clothes line up so it's inconvenient. There is construction noise and dust it's been a windy few days. I think maybe due to the inconvenience they could reduce the fees a little. The big thing in the showgrounds favour is the location. We rode our bikes into Hobart on the intercity cycle track which can be accessed by Howard Road outside the main entrance. There is a bus stop that's great for buses into Hobart. We drove to Richmond and Mount Wellington convenient from the showgrounds. There are shops just a few minutes away. We did enjoy our stay in Hobart and the opportunity to get out and about. I'm sure once the showgrounds our finished it will be a great spot.
Very central camping are in Hobart. Amenities are very good, very clean and staff were more than helpful. There is plenty of space for big vans and setups. Quite noisy from the hwy and bunnings but didn't bother us. We have stayed before and will stay again.
We stayed over Chrissy/ New Year period, as expected the place was packed in both the powered and self contained areas. During this time the toilets/ showers were kept clean and well stocked considering the amount of people that were here. Big thumbs up to the cleaners for their awesome effort 😊 Yes, there is traffic noise but you’ve gotta expect that being in a city environment. Overall good stay
Little bit noisy being close to main roads and construction site activities. Hoons along freeway and Howard Street sirens all day long. Trucks engine braking. No coppers in Glenorchy or they don't give a shit. Needs a bit more thought for a relaxing stop.
