Birch Point Provincial Park

It’s rustic…as billed. In fair weather it’s probably ok, but it was really wet and windy so we moved on. There are a few sites right on the water. Most staying here were long term camping and using the boat launch. More protection and amenities just up the road at the Moose Lake campground.

Basic campground with fire pit, garbage cans and and outhouse. No drinking/running water at this place but there is another camp about 7km away with all that and a little store. Rocky beach, great views. Boat launch and decent fishing. I'd go back.

Very nice looking place with trees for tenting and RV’s, we didn’t need to use any bug spray had some flies around but nothing to worry about, can’t say much about fishing other then you need a Boat not a good place for offshore fishing or swimming!

Really pretty spot, we had a site right on the water. The beach isn’t great for swimming, lots of rocks and muck; I suggest bringing water shoes. It can be pretty windy because it’s right on the water. Bring repellent for black flies! We had a really nice time here, it’s hard to beat being so close to the water (site 8 is good for that).

This Provincial Park has two locations, one being at Moose Lake and the other at Birch Point. Moose Lake features playgrounds, modern toilets and showers, a beach area, boat docking and gorgeous scenery. Birch Point will take in tent trailers, RV's and more, a bit more rugged but people who have camped there always come back every year. People love fishing this great Bay known as Buffalo Bay for it's visible shape and terrific fishing. One has to be careful on this lake as when the south wind blows, the waves could swamp a small fishing boat. If you have a small fishing boat and you are caught up at the Reed River, stay to the shoreline when you are heading back home.
