If you’re thinking about tent camping, choose somewhere else. Apparently someone doesn’t understand the concept of camping and decided to put super bright white street lights over the tent area. Like trying to camp under the sun. Furthermore, the map of the ground is inaccurate. The sites are not linear but more grouped together.
Pound River campground ! Thank you entities for this cool campground. Thank you staff for getting it going again and for the great maintanance. We just got back from a midweek stay/ Mon- Fri. We stayed in a space in front of the new bathrooms/ bathhouse. very convenient,..but... the outdoor security lights over the front doors, are a bit OverTheTop. They flooded out our firepit ambiance. The engineers / architect who designed this part must not camp out,..Zoix! Maybe some kind of light deflector can correct this tiny detail. Didn"t know there were 2 more bathrooms behind structure so maybe signage there. Just joshing the engineer/designer about camping out. The road is a bit rough getting in/out but I supposed that will be corrected eventually. Great stay otherwise. Thank you again and happy trails to all.
It was ok, the fish don't hit . Not a nibble . Loud cars around the camp site. Was a little surprised that a mustang can sit there in the curve and rev its motor right there at the grounds... Was litt disappointed..
An absolute incredible place! The host keeps the campsite and facilities so clean! Tons of fish to catch (Walleye, Bass, Blue Gill), and town is a short trip away. My buddy and I rode out Adventure Bikes there (motorcycle) and it was a great find camping for the night. Highly recommended....great grass for a tent by the side of the river. We will be back.
Our favorite place to camp. The only thing wrong with it now is the people who have always camped there all these years can't get in to camp since people from out of town reserve the camping spots ahead of local people. The only other thing I can say against it is they desperately need an exit road out as it has been known to get flooded and I would feel much safer getting camper's boat's out of there when there is flooding risk. The road in and out at this time is right along side of the Pound River.
