We stayed a week in September 2025. The campground sites were the best. This was the very first RV park for us where the site was so level my husband didn’t have to build steps for me to get up into our coach. Yup, that was especially important for me. The staff was wonderful. The onsite restaurant was great. Close to the Island Explorer, free transportation around Mount Desert Island and Bar Harbor. Our RV club had access to a pavilion for meals and the campground catered two delicious dinners for us. A wonderful vacation and a great place to stay.
Only spent one night but wished we would have stayed longer. Nice pull thrus-some are super long. Lots of amenities. Ate in the tavern and the pizza was good. Not far from Mt Desert Island/Acadia NP.
Great campground, easy drive to Acadia national park. Staff very helpful, gave us shuttle bus schedule and directed us to the new Gateway center for Acadia. There is a resturant on site which had weekly specials we were made aware if we wanted to try. Hope to come back next year
Spent a week including Labor Day weekend. I love this campground. Very convenient to Acadia and Bar Harbor. A couple of miles down the road is the wonderful Island Explorer bus stop and newly opened facilities. I recommend you take full advantage of this benefit as there is limited parking on Mt. Desert Island. Timberland has very friendly staff and great facilities. The sites come in all sizes. The restroom is very clean and I never had an issue using it or getting a hot shower. Their laundry room is huge, clean and they even have extra supplies in case you run out (Thank you Timberland Acres for the dryer sheet) I found this to be a very nice touch. They have a pool and tavern on site as well as firewood for sale. The WiFi is excellent. The location is not only convenient to Acadia National Park but also shopping and restaurants. On this trip I was camping solo but I image the memories so many families have made here are cherished. I will definitely return next year.
The Place is large, limited bath facilities was the only downside. Our trailer is self contained so no impact there. Sites were clean, spacious and well cared for. There were many seasonal campers, they love the place which is why they return year after year. There is much to do in the area, so our two week stay passed quickly. The on grounds tavern has some of the best food in the area. All in all, next time we will be in the area, this is where we will book.
