What a beautiful park. We took trail 7 down to Rose Island! Not for the weak! Of course going down was a breeze but climbing the incline back up was a bit tougher. Plenty of places to rest and a bench probably 1/2 way up. rose Island is such an incredible piece of history and glad the park saved it! Fun to explore and envision what “used to be”
Beautiful area, trail 2 was very muddy and super slippery! Wear good shoes!
Our small women’s hiking group from Louisville thoroughly enjoyed our guided hike at Charlestown State Park! Jeremy, the IN State Naturalist, guided us through the old Rose Island Resort portion of the Park. He is enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and passionate about the park and its history! This is a part of the Louisville area that everyone should visit!
Nice state park with a great staff. The trails are great and very well maintained. Rose Island was amazing and lots of wonderful history to read about.
First time at the park and was pleasantly surprised by the trails! I expected them to be flater with not a lot of variation or elevation change, but we were on cliffs, found waterfalls, and so much history. 10/10 Park!
