Let me tell you what....we were towing our 40' 5th wheel down? the I-10. Up the I-10? We were on the I-10 headed to Texas from Florida. When all of a sudden our truck went into limp mode. Janis Joplin threw a code. We were 1 mile from an offramp. I'm sure there were plenty of folks yelling, or cursing at us. We could only go 35 mph. We get off the highway and there isn't anything to be seen. I get into my Google maps and find this here RV park is only 16 miles down the road. 16 miles down a 2 lane road. Again, poor folks behind us. We felt bad but there isn't anywhere to pull over. Oh, I skipped ahead. My husband called this RV park to see if they had any openings. I had my fingers crossed and I was holding my breath. Dear sweet Casey let us know he sure did have room and to come on down. So we paid him for a week. It is a quiet park. You can hear a train horn here or there but it isn't anything that would keep you awake. I don't know when we'd be back this way but we most certainly would stay here. I didn't see a bathhouse but the laundry was $2 to wash and $2 to dry.
Basic amenities, a little noise from the train, but not too loud for us. There is a building with washers and dryers. If you're looking for a place with all you need and don't want to pay for things you're not gonna use anyway, this is the place to stay!!
It's in a quiet place, it's got enough lots for about 10-15 RV campers. The owner is a sweet elderly man and he's helpful and kind. It's close to a rail road but away from the Hussle and bustle of the 190HWY, I know a lady and her husband that live in an RV there for the moment. There is a grocery store and a family dollar store close by as well as a few hotels and gas stations. A small town but everything you need to live or camp for a bit.
We really enjoyed our stay here! It's a gravel lot with a small laundry room. There is a train yard nearby, so it isn't always quiet, but the neighbors were kind and quiet. We werein Louisiana visiting friends in Baton Rouge. The commute was usually 40-50 minutes.
Had to stay here awhile back when working at Exxon, Baton Rouge due to everyone else being full. I was worried that the drive would be too long but it was actually pretty easy utilizing 190. The owner was extremely nice and worked with me when it was time to leave. There is no onsite office but not an issue for me. I have my own washer/dryer so no need to use the one provided. The area was safe and very peaceful with an occasional train horn. If you need a place to stay id highly recommended this place. It seems that it is best if you have a few folks that you know at the same campground. I also really liked the feature of being able to access the security cameras from the website. Id stay here again.
