Pilot Flying J Travel Plazas #690

I am giving up on Flying J gas stations. This is the third one with problems accepting credit cards at the pump. I get a Good Sam’s discount here but it’s not worth the hassle. I’m towing a 5th wheel, and had to change pumps because of a credit card reading problem. Next pump told me to pay inside. I had to go inside and guess how much gas I need and if you pay too much it’s hard to get a refund. What happened to leaving your card until the gas is pumped. Avoid, especially if you’re towing. Come on Flying J, get your act together. You use to be a great place to get gas.

The water pressure in the showers was great, and all of the staff working during my stay were very friendly and helpful. However, I did have one negative experience. One employee came in on her day off with her boyfriend to do laundry. Since there are only two washers available, her boyfriend removed my clothes from the washer without notifying me and placed them into the dryer. I had checked on my laundry earlier and it still had time remaining, so when I later returned and saw the washer in use, I reasonably believed my clothes were still washing. Because he did not inform me that he had removed them, my clothes were left wet and unattended. He could have easily spoken to me, as I was sitting in the lounge area nearby. Aside from this situation, everything else was fine.

HO!- HO!- HO! MERRY CHRISTMAS and what a warm welcome and great smiles from the night crew working here at the Flying J in Lordsburg, NM. And the reason for tonight's visit is to get CLEAN! HOT! Showers and we got just as we planned and then some! The team working tonight was very alert to their surroundings and the smiles I was greeted with could have warmed the sun and the moon. Our Showers were perfect. Clean and ready. No wait. Warm towel and to kick everything off was the very clean and ready to serve you, Flying J Store. Thank you guys so much. Been driving for over a decade, and I’ve seen my fare share of truck stops; from the moment you rolled in it’s clearly this place is on another level, wide easy access parking, ultra clean restrooms and good water pressure on showers. This one is easy my on my top 5 ! Pizza was great just like my momma just to cook it back in the days.
