Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins

We stayed here in October 2025. Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort is easy to find near I-90, but it sits far enough off the highway that road noise isn’t too bad. This is a very nice campground (CG) with exceptional customer service. The morning of our arrival, the office called to ask whether we wanted to switch sites so we wouldn’t have to move after extending our stay by two days. They recommended Site 71, an end-cap site, and we gladly accepted. We also completed the online pre-check-in, which made arrival quick and simple. We proceeded to pull-through Site 71 with FHUs; the long pad had multiple sewer connection options, which was super convenient, and the utilities were located near the middle of the pad. There’s a nice cement patio and picnic table, and the site was plenty long enough for our 40' toy hauler with the back patio down while still leaving room to park our F450. Campground WiFi was okay at 13.5 Mbps. We had 2 bars of Verizon 5G and 1 bar on T-Mobile, which wasn’t strong enough to support our T-Mobile Home Internet, so we put Starlink on the roof and, with few mature trees near our site, had a clear sky shot and excellent performance. The CG has nice showers, laundry, a dog park, and good walking areas. Overall, this is one of the best private campgrounds we’ve stayed.

Beautiful location. Would have given this a 5-star rating, however, when I asked to use a barbeque to cook my steak, the resort wanted to charge me $50. Oh my. I had my own briquettes, just needed 15 minutes, but no, I needed to rent the bbq for 24 hours at $50. So no steak for dinner. I've never heard of such a charge to use a basic grill with briquettes.

Me and my Wife had our wedding here in OCT of 2025 and our entire wedding party and guests stayed in the mountain view cabins and Elkhorn ridge was easy tow rok with about making sure we had enough cabins for every one. We also used them to coordinate our wedding and Constance and her team made the whole process easy and worry free, even when we had to make adjustments due to weather they helped us and allowed us to make changes very easy, Hands down they made our weekend even better. 10 out of 10 will recommend to any and all. The only thing i would reccomend if you are staying in the large cabins is to bring a fan to move air from the front of the cabins to the back since the a/c and heat unit are in the front.

This is a beautiful park with large spacious spots. The grounds are exceptionally nice and everything is kept very clean. The staff is very friendly as well. Our dog loved the dog park. It is close to Spearfish and Deadwood. And is close enough to get out and see the Black Hills area. My only disappointment is we were shifted from the space I selected near the bathrooms to a spot as far as possible from them (while there were open spaces next to my initial selection). I will absolutely stay again, however I will add notes to clarify the reason for my site selection as it does not appear that was taken into consideration.

Great RV park in a beautiful location- just a short drive to Spearfish Canyon! All sites are spacious and well spaced out; with nice-sized concrete pads and picnic tables. Nice, clean shower rooms with private showers and vanity. Property is very well maintained with nice amenities. Definitely recommend Elkhorn Ridge RV resort for your Black Hills vacation.
