So I did leave a Positive Review I get into my stay but the Lady that runs the park has completely and conveniently changed my mind. 1. Originally when I checked out their web site, it advertised Free WIFI. When I arrived, I was given a WIFI password. But I could not get it to work. I called the office. She said it only for the daily campers because of distance. I told her I have a Kings Falcon WIFI receiver, so it will go out miles. So I asked again, which one it was. Then I finally got the truth. There is no WiFi. I had to go pay for T-Mobile home internet. No wifi but she definitely has cameras that can tell her your speed. She texts if you go 2 mph over 5mph. 2. I took a new job and told her on a Thursday I was leaving and asked her for the prorated amount for the 5days I was there. I told her I had 24hrs of driving. 1610miles. I would be leaving on Friday. Her snow plow guy, Plowed the snow and left large piles in front of all the campers hookups. So, Friday Morning I messaged her, and asked if she would have her plow guy come let me hookup and pull out. I had a long drive. She said ok, she would call her Operator. I just said "thankyou". She then messaged said her guy was out of town. My only option was for her to give me a regular shovel and for me to do it. the snow had melted and froze into ice. She argued with me, told me its not her problem. I wasted 8hrs waiting for her. Her employee put the pile there and she had me trapped. I never got loud or disrespectful. Then she had the nerve to call the cops. The cop made her and a employee shovel it so I could finally leave. Then ran my credit card unauthorized and charged me $250 to move the snow her employee put there. all campers had these piles. this place cost $1200 a month for a lot with no waste hook up, no wifi. And horrible management. Do not stay here! JCW ps. If she reply on her I will post every text message to prove i am telling the truth. She is a big liar as well. 100% true
We had a wonderful stay at this campground! Even though we had a lot of things pop up during our trip, the owner was incredibly kind and helped us out every step of the way. She even came and opened the gate for us early thanksgiving morning because we unexpectedly arrived early. She truly went above and beyond, and you can tell she genuinely cares about her guests. The campsite was very clean, well-kept, and easy to get around, which made everything even better. We’re really grateful for the hospitality and would happily stay here again. Highly recommend!
This was our first time using watermelon park for our tubing adventure. We had a great time. They were able to accommodate all 30 of us, they got ya checked in on the water as fast as possible. Their team was friendly and Candace our bus driver was hands down the best driver! Thanks for taking wonderful care of us and ensuring we had everything we could need for a wonderful time! They do have larger inner tubes and all their tubs have handles. ;-)
The park flooded before and while we were there We were offered money back if we wanted but we stayed and were well taken care of despite the craziness of rvs having to be moved from water rising. Watched the clean up after water receded. Everyone was busting butt to get things back in order.
Great campground! Owners are very nice and the park itself is well kept and beautiful! Being right next to the Shenandoah River is really nice. If you are trying to go fishing, I suggest going up river a little bit where the water is deeper. There were a lot of fish there but none of them bit for us. 😓 the campground store opens on Memorial Day so it might be closed when you visit. The campsites all didn’t have sewers (I think) so you will need to use the dump station. Great campground, amazing views, worth a visit!
