This is a great state park to get some photos of nature. Campsites are well spaced out and level in the Pinon campground. Beautiful views of the snow covered Spanish Peaks.
Historic and beautiful!! We stayed here in our travel trailer during off-season and it was amazing! Plenty of trails, views, and space to let the dogs out on the lead. There is a ton of cactus in the area though, so we had to pull out the dog shoes for the trails. The pull-through site had lots of room for the rig and vehicle, plus a pad for a tent, a picnic table, and a fire pit. There was electric hookup, and a water fill-up stations throughout the campground. Did not see the bathrooms/showers as they are closed during off-season but there were plenty throughout. There is a hospital across from the park and the little town nearby is adorable and has anything you may need while in the area. Then there is Trinidad only 30-40 mins away. Absolutely a wonderful location and we will be returning throughout the year!
Great park, the views are amazing! Very clean and ran very competently. Not a lot of shade, but a unique ecosystem. I've never done great fishing here, but that's just me.
It is a very nice park, clean, easy to park and hook up. Sites in A Loop appear to be fairly level. Great views of the snowy Spanish Peaks! A bit breezy this particular weekend but nice to walk the park!
Very nice park. All sights are pull through. The bathrooms and the showers are very clean. Showers are paid showers, .50 for 4 minutes, .75 for 6 and up. Very nice ridge hike.
