Shoal Bay Holiday Park

What a beautiful place with stunning beaches. Unfortunately the beaches aren’t very dog friendly, with only one spot to take pooch. The caravan parks impossible hasn’t got a lot of shade with the astroturf a main selling point. Me I’d rather have shade and grass. The camp kitchen was pretty parse with everything, a shame really as we like to take advantage of these spaces, it’s generally a good space to catch up with other travellers, swap stories and share great spots. The caravan parks impossible really takes advantage that it’s the only one on offer. I will say though the bathrooms are nice including rain head shower. But really do they have to clean so early in the morning?

I hate to rate this so highly (it's already crowded during peak times as it is!) But I've attended Shoal Bay Holiday Park for nearly three decades. The toilet facilities are wonderful, it's across the road from the beach and close to shops, restaurants and lovely walks. It is clean, and the staff at maintenance and reception are always lovely and helpful. My only negative remark is that during the night, there is nothing stopping people walking into the park and causing issues. But that is not easily resolved. Off season is also lovely, and clearly, there's a reason there are regulars at the park. Highly recommend, and I will be returning.

Easy walk to the beach, clean facilities, kid and pet friendly. Service good - late check in just let them know as a courtesy and all details are promptly provided for access and collection of a map and any keys if you’re staying in a cabin. Quite close to the main road, so a reasonable amount of car noise did detract from the experience

We stayed in our Caravan, the location is fantastic, 2 minute walk to beach, shops, restaurants etc. Easy drive to Nelson Bay for more eating and shopping options. Site was well appointed and spacious with easy access to the amenities, BBQ etc. Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Amenities were spotless, my husband is disabled, and the disabled facilities were absolutely fantastic. Spacious, easy to navigate with ample room for walker, wheelchair etc.

Had an amazing stay and so close to the beach and the beach is heaven 😍 Facilities are perfect .. I will say the vibe staying in my caravan was average as alot of old grumpy people , needs a better vibe .. come younger people take charge 😊
