KOA - Washington DC / Capitol KOA Campground
About
Users of the dump station do not need to be registered guests. There is rinse water available, but it is not suitable for drinking. To get to the dump station, whether you are traveling north or south on I-97, you should take the Benfield Blvd. exit and head east. Then, turn right onto Veteran's Highway and continue for about 1-2 miles. After that, turn right onto Hog Farm Road and follow the signs that will lead you to the KOA Campground, where the dump station is located.

My wife and I booked a cabin for the night at this KOA. I let the campground know I would be arriving after hours, which I have done at many other KOA before, but when I picked up my packet at the door there was no key provided and the cabin was locked. We would have been sleeping in the car had we not found that one of the windows was unlocked, and ended up having to climb in through the window to be able to sleep for the night. The next morning as I was checking out, I brought this up to the front office. It felt like they took it as a joke, saying things like "well apart from climbing in the windows, how was your stay?" and "thanks for bringing back your anti-key", and offered no real apologies, apart from a single condolence and an offer of some candy from the free bowl on the desk. I've never had an issue like this it at any of the KOA I've started at before, but I guarantee I'll never stay at this particular KOA again.
Living on the road in an RV is always a challenge when there is a special event to attend to in a major city like Baltimore. As a member of KOA, I always look for places that are nearby and rent a car. I will tell you this is the best place to stay as rental car agencies are nearby in those moments. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. There are a lot of activities for families, specifically for children to enjoy their time there as well. When I return whether to Baltimore or to DC itself, I will surely consider staying there again !
This is our first time staying here and it has been great for us! The amenities are nice and clean. The grounds are maintained and the staff is super friendly! Izzy was so kind and helped us add a few more days to our reservation. We had an issue with our camper and David was extremely helpful! He went above and beyond to help us. When we come back we will definitely stay here again and look forward to seeing the kind staff we encountered!
We’ve stayed at this KOA for the last five years or so when attending Ren Fest, and it’s always been a reliable choice. Like most KOAs, the facilities are clean, well-maintained, and the service is consistently solid. We especially appreciate the cabin layout — close enough to the restrooms and showers to be convenient, but still spaced in a way that gives you some privacy and a bit of quiet. It strikes a nice balance between comfort and that “camping getaway” feel. Overall, you really can’t go wrong staying here. It’s become part of our Ren Fest tradition, and we’re happy to keep returning.
45 to an hour from D/C. Doesn't seem to have a camp host on site - at least 2 nights cabin renters played music late into the night loud enough to hear inside my RV - had a cabin camper blocking my exit - called left a message did not get a call back - an hour later I stopped an employee and asked him to ask the campers to move their car. I don't think I'll be back. Staff were very nice and friendly. Campground was a bit worn especially where we were.
