Such a lovely, quiet, older park by the water. Not fancy, but lovely and relaxing. Nice walking, bike path. Clean and lots of trees, shade or sun.
Great experience camping here!! Definitely a hidden gem. I'm from Michigan and love checking out the unique camp spots near water. There were no campgrounds on the Michigan side of the St. Clair river so I was happy to find this one on the Canadian side. The staff was helpful with the booking and my questions during my stay. Beautiful sunsets and soothing noises from the freighters that pass through in the night which can act as a white noise if you need it! Spent my time at the campsite, the gardens nearby which were stunning with wildlife and flowers, drove up and down the river stopping at all the parks/lookouts, Sarnia Poutine Feast food trucks, Point Edward, a few coffeeshops, checked out anywhere with a view and went back over to Michigan to the Thomas Edison Depot museum and dinner at Junction Buoy in Marysville. Did the Huron Lady II cruise on my last day! It went from super warm to super cold and windy so I just had to tweak my plans as I went and make the most of it. Highly recommend for those looking to take the paths less traveled. Not a big touristy area but has the hidden gems when you look.
This park is one of our absolute favourites, a real gem! Great sites, quiet park, wonderful setting.
Absolutely beautiful there it was really nice going for the weekend the only thing is make sure you have lots of bug spray I got eaten alive lol 🤣
Very quiet campground with beautiful views of the St Clair River. One thing campers registering should be aware of. The office/store closes at 4 o'clock (not sure if hours may change in summer months) so you must have reservations if arriving after 4. If the store is closed upon arrival you pull into your campsite and than register the next day. The hours and how to register was not explained to us when making reservations. The store/office hours are not posted at the campground. Also our campsite was a 50 amp site and we were told when booking that there were 30 to 50 amp adapters available at the office to borrow, however when arriving on a Friday night after work found the office closed and had to hurry to unhook and get to a store to purchase one. I had called the office and left voicemail with my cell phone number and asked for the staff to call when the office opened the next day however my call was not returned. This all could have been avoided if there was proper communication from the staff when booking. Other than the confusion upon arrival we had a very enjoyable stay.
