I went horseback riding for the first time here and it was amazing! I absolutely love the horse I got to ride! The instructor was funny and very friendly. We went through the river and my horse love to play in it, so that was a cool experience. I definitely wanna do it again. My 13 year old daughter also tagged along and instantly loved it!
Always a great time at Double R Ranch! Steve and the entire staff are a pleasure to work with, Professional, attentive and knowledgeable. My wife, myself and many friends & family have been here many times over the years. So much to do, great tubing or kayaking, nice campground and I especially like the horseback riding. The prices are reasonable too. It helps that it is close to home as well, very convenient. One thing I really admire about Double R is that they do a lot of different things to give back to the community and especially how they have helped me with my Special Olympics silent auction/fundraising over the years.any company with a good heart will always earn my business and respect. Highly recommend Double R for your Summer adventures!
Let's start with: not family friendly and very filthy. No kids activities, everything was ran down, including the pool area, bring your own seats for the pool. I went to work at 1am and then started heading to this camp ground after work at 4 STRAIGHT from work. To be told I didn't have a reservation until Fri to sun (it was tue), nope, pulled up my email and there it was (driving 3.5hrs away). Then told the $52 a day is for 2 people, anymore over 2 people over 5yrs old was $5 more a day (actually was told five different 🙄 things). So I am suppose to pay extra for my kids except my 2yr old. So, not knowing what to do and a huge storm pending, we started to set up camp, we had 10 other families coming in 3 days for a yearly camping trip we do. Then the campsite was littered with junk left from the last campers. Our site was a mud hole for a huge storm to hit. However, not the end of the world. Take the toddler to the "park", what a joke. The metal older slide and spinner thing were pretty cool. But the plastic playscape was dangerous 😳 ☠️ the end of the slides 🛝 were broken. So your little one huts a leg cheese slicer at the bottom of the slide. The bridge from slide to slide was 6 or 7 foot tall and the bars were big enough for my 12 yr old to climb through, which meant my toddler could fall through them. Not to mention halfway across the bridge, there is a whole in the floor with press board covering that also has a hole large enough for my toddlers leg. The bathrooms cool that they are unisex and each come with a shower 🚿 and toilet 🚻. Yet, are absolutely gross. I walked in AFTER the cleaner left once and hair all over the sink still and the floor muddy. The mold on the walls under the blow dryer , sink, and shower were the kicker. So after all this and the thunderstorm coming, I had made the decision to up lift camp and switched to a different campground about 10-15 miles away. Oh let me tell the few positive: staff was friendly, the actual pool was in better condition (not the shower, toilets or around the pool: very uninviting) and the lots were very good size width and length.
We absolutely loved our family vacation here! We rented the RV and were very happy with it. The pool and restroom /shower areas were very clean. The property is very big so there were lots of opportunities to hike. The horseback riding was the real highlight! Our kids had never ridden before but they make everyone feel at ease and made it so much fun for them! 10/10 would recommend and already we're planning our next trip back!
