The Rock Recreation Ground

Just staying the night on our way back to Qld. Very quiet, 2 other vans here. Is a bit dry and dusty. Reported showers and toilets but we didn't use them.

Great spot we stayed 2 nights and toured the district from here.

Great place to visit. Activities and games for children. Open areas to walk the dog or let the children run around. Area at the back for free camping with clear area and some gum trees.

A great spot to have a break from the highway. Quiet, clean and grassy with toilets, shower and dump point on site. A donation is your tariff and a 3 day limit Interesting little township as well.

Great FREE camp lots of spaces...next to a creek but not accessible (private property) Toilets and a hot shower for gold coin donation... Can be a bit of a walk to toilets if it's busy and you don't get a close spot.. (they are near the pavilion as that's where the tanks and hot water services are) Plenty of room for the kids to run around..no playground...but one nearby in Main St... Brand New swimming pool just been installed....short walk to Supermarket/butchers/coffee shop/post office and Bowls club for a cheap lunch Wed to Friday The Kings Own hotel on highway for a quick pub meal.. About 3ks walk or drive to The Rock itself... Great picnic parks. Walks..Fresh water available behind toilets...and dumping point You just have to remember this is a FREE camp ground NOT a paying park.. Community looked after and they do a great job.. If you come across a problem. Leave a note in donation bin.. Don't complain on reviews.. They know doubt be doing the best they can and a fantastic job at that..while there take the Road out to The Rock Recreation Reserve..great barbeque are.. Toilets and walking tracks.. (not a climbing/abseiling rock tho) then a further 16ks the little set up Tourist Info centre.. Worth the drive.. So we'll set up.. Unfortunately.. Fun and quirky.. Looked after by the community again and a fantastic job.... 👌 a donation box wouldn't go astray here either just to help maintain it.... Revisit 13/3/2020 Keep free camping if you have the stocks to do it, safest place to be, out in the fresh air....like we are now at THE ROCK NSW, free, one shower and toilet each sex, NOT shared as most places are these days, gold coin donation if you use, (worth leaving a donation anyway with the way they look after the town) NEW swimming centre, with DIVING board, rarely seen these days, great set up, also new playground just been built, only downfall Corellas, your in the bush, it's music to the ears (🤗) beautiful little town, with memorial Avenue in the centre,has Foodworks and bowling club for meals, coffee shop/cafe, sit in or out or takeaway, chemist and hairdresser, garage, not sure if fuel or not, Bowser's look unused , expensive fuel tho it does sell fuel...worth a stop spend a few dollars, playground and Loo,s in main Street also... If your here on a Thursday night you get free entertainment with Touch Footy Practice, (new to us) was great watching them, but don't camp on the fence line at any footy ground, like on bus/camper had, you never know what goes on in any town, so be respectful...
