Federal Falls Campground

The kangaroos ruin all the fun, they are constantly confronting you and get territorial. Im an animal lover but this was just too much, the kids were too scared to get out of the tent and had to cook dinner in the back of the car. All this to wake up for a hike that wasn't worth it..... very disappointed!

Unfortunately, the falls were not running due to a lack of rain. It is a very pretty walk, but there are a lot of steep inclines and declines, lots of steps. I doubt I would do the hike a second time, but I'm glad I did the hike once.

Great camping ground with a lot of space around you. Best part is that you have mobile access as this is close to the communication tower at Mount Canobola's lookout. Views are amazing particularly around sunset and plenty of walking treks for you to explore.

The camp ground is excellent, with ample space for tents - the kangaroos cone to visit at dusk. We stayed for three nights in summer and it was still bitterly cold at night, so bring warm clothes. As of December 2023, both barbecues are non-operational, so you have to drive the mountain to Lake Canobolas to use the cooking facilities there.

A pleasant location, to camp or just bring the family for a barbecue. The Federal Falls walking track offers some stunning and beautiful scenery of the Canobolas State Park. The camping grounds offers barbecues and toilet facilities, no showers.
