Modest state park with a playground and boat ramp. There is a restaurant and bar located nearby as well. It is called Mud Lake for a reason and the area can be swampy at times. Camping here is still fun even with the mud. There are also music festivals and other public activities planned here from time to time.
I was looking to go on a trail, but there are no hiking/walking trails by Mud Lake. The lake also appeared a little dirty. I haven't had a chance to visit the restaurant/bar, but I will be back .
Visited Memorial Day weekend. Beautiful lush park. Just listening to the birds is very relaxing.
Stunning views of the Mississippi River, and great wildlife all around! 🦅 🦫 Perfect place to launch your kayak for an afternoon paddle, although quite a bit of duckweed growing currently 😣
Some of the sites are shared sites. So you pull in the next guy will have to back in. If you know who your sharing with its not bad. Not a lot of shade in the top camp grounds. Pretty basic amenities. Night sky is beautiful.. Buggy, bring the spray, u r right by the water. The lake opens up to the Mississippi and the surrounding area is beautiful!
