Free, cool park and beach. Parking is limted and I would strongly suggest coming in SUV.
Bumpy Road. One road we didn't go cause the ruts were too deep. But what a nice view!
I do recommend for you to have a 4x4 to drive down to the parking. You will need sunblock, water a hat, and very good walking shoes. Lots of rocks and lava. You will see lots of turtles. It's a very beautiful walk along the coast.
Always a nice spot! Snorkeling, Honu, dolphins in the morning, 8 camp sites but reserve early (30 days out at Midnight)... No water but clean Luas. Gates locked at 7pm nightly so pretty quiet... Black sand and some Rocky areas. Good for fishing and diving
The road to get to the reserve was very bumpy and quite long. Just brace yourself and go very slow unless you have an SUV or jeep. We drove as far as we could go and then took a short walk to the beach area. Pretty black sand but you may want to wear your sandals instead of going barefoot as the minerals and rocks within the sand is sharp. It was pretty cool to see black sand and the beach was nice! We didn’t see any turtles during the time we were there but we still had a great time! The goats were crossing the path as we were leaving.
