This is a great place to relax and enjoy nature. You can ride your bike for miles, swim, kayak, or stroll along the nature walk. This spring has a small camp store and snack shop. Camp or come for the day and you will be glad that you did!
Manatee Springs is a beautiful state park with hiking trails, swimming, biking and diving opportunities. The staff are very friendly and they have a small shop near the spring where you can buy a few supplies or even order food. The bathrooms where clean but the showers take a long time to warm and the TP is like sandpaper! We really enjoyed seeing all the wildlife. Deer are playing and walking around all during the day, owls where very vocal at night and we also saw other native birds as well. We saw evidence of wild boar while hiking the trails but thankfully they stayed away. We got up early in hopes to see manatee leaving the spring but only ever saw the one. We were there at sunrise but it can vary. All trails and boardwalk were well maintained but it looks like a storm went through in the past year knocking down a lot of trees. It's actually nice they've left them since it is beneficial for the mushrooms etc. Our only complaints overall were the showers, our picnic table bench on one side was broken and the TP! Overall, a great campsite especially considering it was only $20/night.
Manatee Springs SP is such a great little park! The springs are beautiful and a great place to see manatees in the winter. The boardwalk out to the river is very well made and maintained and offers several viewing points. The park also features amenities for families and a boat ramp for kayaks and paddle boards.
This was a wonderful campground to stay at and the kids say they want to go again! The park doesn’t boast about their trails but we took the bikes out on them and had an enjoyable time. It’s right up the road from a 30 mile long paved trail in Chiefland as well. The Spring was beautiful and cool. I didn’t venture in but the kids loved it. We observed several scuba divers.
Beautiful spring, perfect for cooling off in the hot weather. The swimming area is quite large. There is a separate ramp that you can use to paddle out into the Suwannee River and canoe/kayak rentals are available at the park. A beautiful boardwalk also takes you down to the river. There is a small concession stand and store, but we didn't visit as we tend to pack lunch and being what we need. We plan on returning in the colder months to hopefully spot some manatees.
