Such a beautifully designed environment. Love the private picnic areas along the Bear River Trail (especially now that it’s Fall). The woman at the desk was helpful & informative about the history of the place. Loved seeing the bison, elk, and I even spotted a moose. It’s also a perfect overnight as a rest area! I’ll be back!
Fantastic place...they have a dump station and water for RVs. Awesome for those traveling. They have only 3 rv parking spots. There are long spots for those pulling a trailer, but for a motorhome with a tow, there are 3 spots. So get there early if you want to nap. The welcome center is filled with animals of the area. Also have bison 🦬 in the park.
This is a wonderful small state park in Evanston that has Bison and Elk in pastures and access to the Bear River. There are walking trails as well.
As much as I heard about this park I was not that excited when I got there. The visitors center is interesting (pretty small) with a nice exhibit, stuffed animals, some souvenirs and park-themed merchendise. The animal enclosure is small with bison only. I never saw any elk or any other animals. It was cool to see an albino bison.
For this review, I'm combining the visitor center and park, as they're connected. The property is clean and well maintained. The lots were clean, well maintained, well lit and fairly level. Visitor center has the nature display and the live animals are right outside. Playground features at both locations and hiking/biking trails throughout. Bathrooms are located about the property but closed for winter, (visitor center Bathrooms remain open). Picnic tables and grills at both locations. RV dump station is located at the visitor center. This is a fee free property but donations are requested. I had 3 bars of Verizon 4G LTE Roaming, 3 bars of park wifi and 6 OTA television channels from my visitor center location. As always, I left my area cleaner than when I arrived and thanks to the state of Wyoming for allowing me to overnight.
