Great little lake, floating docks, washrooms, small bluffs to jump off and some turtles hidden in the reeds
This is an excellent park with a very small lake. The lake is quite shallow, I've heard it's under 30 meters at its deepest, so it warmed up quickly and made for great swimming. It was fairly busy when I went, with lots of families around and not much beachfront, so it’s pretty prized real estate. The lakefront beach area has some sand, and the lake itself is very alive—lots of bulrushes and natural stuff going on. It’s a little muddy outside the lake, but that’s what all good lakes do. Great sand, nice little creek feeding into it, and really good wheelchair access. There was lots of space to sit. Clean, warm, and just an awesome area. Tucked in amongst a bunch of other lakes too, which made it even cooler. One of the nearby lakes even had tortoises! Overall, really, really great place. Warm water, beautiful beach, great swimming. Only downside is that there wasn’t a lot of capacity when I went, so get your towel down early and stake your spot.
We felt very safe at this campground as it was very busy, and the lake was filled with people from sunrise to sunset. The showers and flush toilets were appreciated as well. Campsites are way too close together though, and are only separated by some very small trees that aren’t more than 2 years old (see pic)
A little gem of a campground on the Sunshine Coast. 19 RV spaces, plus 10 for tents. Great location for families, dog friendly, warm lake, no traffic sounds. Flush toilets, showers (cold water tho). 30 amp power and water for rvs. We have 32 ft class C, lots of room. The reason it's a 4 rating is because we had trouble leveling our rig...but we're also still fairly new RV'rs which could have attributed to this. Tried to book another trip here but this space is mostly booked for the season. We'll be back next year!
Nice park. RV site have power and water hookups only. No sewar. Washrooms and shower close by. Relatively clean and useable. Beach is tiny and mostly hard packed gravel. This is a park and it is open to all. This means that access to the lake can be difficult on hot days as hundreds flock here and overwhelm the road and public areas. Seems to be better swimming at Garden Bay lake where there are little docks along the shoreline that you can use. For the most part if you grab one of these early you can have it to yourself for the afternoon. A quick 5 to 10 minute walk from the campsite. Mt Daniels is also close by and worth a hike. Hosts are very kind.
