Absolutely love how remote the Pin Oak campground. Plan accordingly if you need internet. You are able to use the guest wifi at the lodge. The bathrooms and shower were immaculate! Camp hosts were quite friendly. Only passing through, but would definitely come again. Beware, some of the back-in spots are small
The bigger campground has so many pull-through sites that overlook the lake! Most are completely level & they are very roomy. You don't have to worry about your awning or slide-outs hitting your neighbors. The bath houses are updated, very clean & they aren't cramped. We have already booked another 4 day weekend next year in April!
Great peaceful campsite. Bathrooms were the best I've ever experienced at a campground. Very well maintained. Will definitely come back
The hook ups were updated, but there is little to no cell service currently. It was somewhat refreshing to go technology-free for our long weekend. It’s a great place for stargazing! We saw several shooting stars. The camp hosts were off duty all weekend and there was no one at the welcome station, so we never found the hiking trails, but we caught (and released) several catfish.
This park offers a wonderful camping experience. Clean areas, great views, clean and air conditioned bath houses, nice laundry room. Washers and dryers are $2.00 a load and are clean and work well. Nice boat slip by center loop down at the lake. If you are looking to unplug and relax, this is your place. There is another loop that has a swimming beach area, playground, and picnic Pavillion with grills conveniently located across from Bath house #2, which also has a/c and laundry room. All sites are fairly level with gravel. Each site has a fire pit, light pole, and grill. There are 2 camp hosts on site, and they both sell firewood for $8 a bundle. There is no wi-fi available, and cell service is spotty. There is a picnic table located at the check-in station, and the station house has a booster pole, and some cell service can be reached from there or down by the lake/boat slip. Rangers do patrol sites regularly as well as camp hosts and are available for help or questions. All dogs must be on a leash at all times, and children under 16 must wear a helmet while riding bikes and scooters. There are 5 primitive cabins available for rent by the lake inlet. They all have window a/c units, 4 bunks, a dresser, ceiling fan with light and a small table and 2 chairs. Outside of each cabin is a picnic table, grill, light pole, and fire pit. Do not miss this gem of a campground. This information is for Pin Oak Campground. Up the road is the Pin Oak Lodge and several other campgrounds.
