I stayed at this park for almost a year. I am single work often and rarely there yet I was constantly harassed by the park Manager Millie. There is horrible double standard as some people get dirty letters and threats of eviction for stupid stuff like hanging a portable tent camping hammock in a tree while other lots have flags screwed to the trees and hammocks and lights and all sorts of suff. This person is unfriendly and unprofessional on a level that is hard to understand. Their so called security is crap as they mostly hide in vacant spots during the day and harass people at night. No purpose or mission. It’s cheap I will give them that but it is also in the middle of nowhere and 20 degrees hotter than anywhere else. And the wind blows so hard it’s hard to describe. In the fall the power is turned off for days or weeks at a time. And funny enough when the gate they protect like Fort Knox is either turned off or not working they don’t protect it at all! Just absolutely dumb! Unfriendly and unfortunate. For a few more bucks the choice to stay somewhere else is not difficult. Why stay where nothing is cared for the pool if open or working is full of bugs and don’t you dare drip water anywhere. Just a true waste of a stay. Thanks Millie for threatening to evict me because I dared to calmly ask relevant questions .
So, my friends live out here in this park, and it has long-term RV rates and good amenities for long-term living. However, it is very remote, no walking distance for anything, you must have a vehicle, and it can get extremely windy and hot out here, you are going into a much more rural and even wild area, plenty of desert creatures live out here, bring water, prepare for sun, and watch for wildlife, there are fences around the property, but that doesn't keep everything out.
Beautiful, quiet and peaceful. The oaks in the meadow were very large. Being underneath them felt like a sanctuary. Water is available in the meadow. We did not need full hook ups so the location worked great for us. Staff was pleasant and helpful. We arrived well before 5:00 to get our gate pass. It is nice to have the security.
The ladies Working at this RV park have to be the sweetest, most loving women I have ever dealt with. The park is also beautiful, quiet and well maintained. Thanks, Jessica for doing your job with such kindness.
Unfortunately, you have to give one star to post a review, or it would be zero. I do not recommend Ma Tar Awa, nor would I render this place ... horrible experience. Unprofessionally managed and not maintained. Jessica should find her happy place because she is rude to guests, plus perfidious. Jessica goes around badmouthing Millie, who is the most professional of the bunch. Viejas' name shouldn't be affiliated. I'm very disappointed because I love Viejas.
